well, summer will be here someday

For all the shut down strangers and hot rod angels,
Rumbling through this promised land
Tonight my baby and me, we're gonna ride to the sea
And wash these sins off our hands.

Tonight, tonight the highway's bright
Out of our way, mister, you best keep
'Cause summer's here and the time is right
For racin' in the street.

"When we found the things we loved,
They were crushed and dying in the dirt.
We tried to pick up the pieces,
And get away without getting hurt,
But they caught us at the state line,
And burned our cars in one last fight,
And left us running burned and blind,
Chasing something in the night."

Tour's done. Future crap

Tour's over. thanks everyone that was cool.
Special shout out to Punch (the band) cos they rule.

In the next few months we're doing nothing as a band.

-Personally, I'm going to become rich and get buff and start on my new exciting life plan (watch the newspapers for that one).
-Parker is going to embark on his pottery making vision quest while watching cats and living for free.
-Rusty is going to get rolling with his professional sousaphone career and living the "High Life".
-Tony is going to join a new band, Universal Annihilation and he'll be publishing a cookbook soon.
-Justin is gonna move somewhere to start his dream of being a Broadway performer.

After all that, we'll probably put out a full length record and dominate the world.

In the meantime, for the probably non-existent people that are reading this: keep it real, stay strong, don't turn into a boring asshole.

love,
Adam

Here's a question...

If you're in front of a coffee shop and there's an old guy kind of looking at you with a friendly face and some sort of undecipherable gleam in his eye; And, after a few minutes, he says:
"Did you want a piece of cake, or something to eat?"
Is it cos you look like a homeless junkie--or what?

Tour

We're touring the west coast from July 23 til August 8th. It's gonna be with some friends.
www.myspace.com/deepenthewound
www.fatheroftheflood.blogspot.com

I'll put up specific dates when I'm not tired and lazy.

Also, pretty soon I'll probably post some writing and maybe other crap that might make this thing a bit more interesting/useful.

Fuck Seawolfe forever.
And cops too.

thanks.

Hello. Plus Songs and lyrics

Well, hello there in internet land. I hope things find you well. This blog thing is going to serve as a place to put tour dates and music and other such things for our band, Marrow. And at the same time we can safely keep the moral high ground of not having a goddamn myspace (EDIT-spoke too soon on that one apparently you can't book a fucking tour without it these days. gosh, you should be our friend), thus providing you with what is probably only a halfway satisfying mediated screen experience. I would also like to reserve the right to post drunken ramblings now and then.
thank you.
A.

Below are three songs that we recorded for a tour cd. They will most likely eventually be on a full-length record that, if all goes well, we will record later this year.

To The Lighthouse

Lyrics

Water.Liver.Fire
Searching for a cause or a way to trace the time
It's in a wrinkle by the eye or the depth beneath the lens
It's in the space carved out by the onslaught of things gone past

Eras descend into lines and fissures-Gone Forever
Mistakes, words stuck on the the tongue, things left undone
for which there is No Atonement

The bulwark is held by a thousand fleeting lines
The flicker on the skin, the hollowed inside
Presents a mirror to that space, brought forth into flesh
My body holds every instant I've ever drawn breath
Contained therein, the ebb and flow
Years and years with so little ground to show
Thus anchoring lines move upward and out
Born from water below fitted in and taken root

Nourished by movement, yet manifesting stillness
Though sometimes I wish to just remain still
And try to piece back together what I've moved on from
(and what's moved on from me)
But there is no stillness with the earth circling underfoot
Such things live on only in body, dream, memory
And this is bittersweet

Nourished by movement, manifesting stillness
Just remain still-frozen with a memory
There is no stillness with the earth underfoot
Such things die
And this is...

A bitter purge drains and dries blood out
Left gasping, grasping as the air sinks down
And a sweet tonifier building new blood
slowly expanding a shifting space

On and On and Never Again-A moment flashes by
Transmuted by time into texture of skin and it will sink

Down into a core of creation and control
Inhale lifesblood, grieve, and let go
To bear the child of water,
the pole between joy and fear
Gathering will flows into crafting soul
And the first stirring of an unborn sun
(for within, movement can't be undone)
Restless for a new timeless arc
To thaw the core To nourish the root
To succor the past To give home to hurt

Once,
Movement outside bestowed a crushing grip
Running scared to ground washing away

In the fabric of these cycles is a wisdom
To move alongside them: Birth and Decay

For I wish to find a place of stillness within my heart

To the Lighthouse
Is not really the title of the song, and, in fact, there aren't even real lyrics.
It's just some crap taken from a book! What a chump move.

"And, what was even more exciting, she felt, too, as she saw Mr. Ramsay bearing down and retreating, and Mrs. Ramsay sitting with James in the window and the cloud moving and the tree bending, how life, from being made up of little separate incidents which one lived one by one, became curled and whole like a wave which bore one up with it and threw one down with it, there, with a dash on the beach."
